Ride A: 10 Miles
Herbal Healing

Starting from the delightful market town of Llandovery, this short ride follows quiet roads southwards into the rolling foothills of the Black Mountain, where it visits the small village of Myddfai.

The village is famous for a line of physicians and healers, said to be related to the magical ‘lady of the lake,' who first appeared from the waters of the nearby Llyn y Fan Fach. It also boasts a fine hostelry, which is perfectly placed for a spot of rest and relaxation before starting out on the return leg.

Staying on quiet lanes, the route leaves Myddfai, and climbs steeply up to the small hamlet of Myrtle Hill, where there are great views back over the dramatic sweep of the magnificent Carmarthen Fan. From there, it's down into the Ydw Valley where one final climb separates you from the beautiful Tywi Valley and some hard-earned refreshment back in Llandovery.
