It starts easily enough, following quiet roads and narrow lanes along the beautiful Usk Valley from Brecon to the historic town of Crickhowell. From here, it makes a determined detour into the very heart of the spectacular Black Mountains.
It's not as hilly as you might imagine, the only real climb is a steady pull out of Crickhowell, that leads up through the magnificent Vale of Ewyas to the impressive, 542m, Gospel Pass. From there, it's downhill into the Wye Valley for a pleasant cruise, on more quiet roads, back to Brecon.
With so much to see plus an excellent selection of cycle-friendly accommodation in the area, why not take the plunge and make a real weekend of it?
